supervision

for spiritual directors

compassionate companionship in practice

nurturing authenticity, inner freedom, and the well-being of you and your directees

Trained in Together in the Mystery’s model of supervision - emphasizing a compassionate, contemplative, and evocative stance. I deeply resonate with the way this model nurtures a compassionate stance towards ourselves as deeply human directors and towards the humanity of those we companion.

Individual Spiritual direction is particularly supportive if you:

  • recently completed a spiritual direction training program

  • have a busy practice with more than a few people you meet with each month

  • prefer the intimacy of a one-to-one setting

  • practice direction in a small community where you aren’t as free to present a case without others guessing who your conversation partner is

  • meet with directees who have complex cases such as those with a history of trauma or who are in crisis

  • find that you need more regular processing of your cases than a group can provide

“whatever the spirit does is done because of love. and this movement of love you will find within your own soul.”

— Catherine of Siena

What to Expect

The first session is an opportunity to get to know one another, explore how you would like supervision to support you, and see if we are the right fit for one another before moving forward.

You may choose between formal or informal supervision. If formal supervision is preferred, Contemplative Reflection and Recalled Dialogue forms are available for use. I can also use a form of your preference.

In many ways, this supervision model can feel like spiritual direction in its contemplative stance of inner sifting and pausing to notice what the Spirit is stirring within.
